This is no idle boast!
… and this is mostly true for all of today’s more intelligent incarnations of the ETX 90 as well. 🙂
I’d like to explain what I mean with the following five articles:
Ten reasons why the ETX 90RA is the greatest telescope in the world!
How to find things with the ETX 90RA (the most misunderstood capability of the scope)
How to see things once you find them! (The scope’s second most misundertood capability)
An ever growing list of things you can really see with the ETX 90, along with what to expect in the eyepiece
- Answers to the twelve things people don’t like about the ETX 90RA
The first and last articles will be pretty much subjective.
The second and third will apply to any telescope – although, they evolved from my list of “things I wish someone had told me before I sold my first ETX 90”!
The third one, in particular, I hope will demystify how some folks seem to be able to “see” amazingly faint objects and detail that are completely invisible to mere mortals. It is an aquired skill, not a super power. You’ll see how this is all about patience, technique, and practice.
The fourth one will be valid for any small aperture telescope.
Please let me have your comments, agreeable and not so agreeable. I’d also like to see pictures of you and your ETX 90 during an observing session, if possible! I’ll post some of mine to get things going. I’ll talk to our Administrator about getting us an album.
Lets get started.
